Starting at 22 May French Kiss will become image character and appear in CM for Itoyokado, Seibu Sogo, and Seven Net Shopping “Rain Style Collection”.
French Kiss’ version of the CM will have their new song, “Rainy day” as tie-up song.

And then starting at 3 June, Fuji TV’s “Uchikuru!?” will have “Rainy day” as ending theme for June-July broadcast. Please check it too.

Personal Notes

Pre-show
1. One could apply for the ticket by sending email to designated address (@gmail lol) and wait for confirmation email if they win the ticket or email informing they don’t get it.
THIS is where they failed so much. Some winners got more than one confirmation email. Some of those who didn’t get the ticket got information email while some didn’t get anything. Looks like the staffs are still doing this manually. Why don’t adopt ticketing system from AKB?
So much inconvenient for people in waiting list because of this. One must wait 3 hours until show after getting the number. What a waste of time!

Show
1. This temporary theater doesn’t give what it’s supposed to offer. The stage is too far. I had furthest seat at back right and although the stage is higher, it’s still hard to see the show because of people’s hand when kecha-ing and waving lightsticks.
Points for good lighting and sound.
2. All of the song title stay Japanese when being introduced. Some were translated during singing, some were not. Translated lyrics becomes amusing almost funny, especially for Kiss Shite Son Shichatta. It turned out to be, “Tak apa kau cium aku sekali, rasanya seperti digigit nyamuk~” (It’s OK if you kiss me once, felt like bitten by mosquito). Thanks to the dangdut-like melody, I can’t stop laughing like crazy during the song.
3. Unit costumes stay the same as original, but all group songs had new ones. Personally the one I like the most is the pink one they used during Boku no Sakura.
4. During MC they tried to use Japanese sentences translated into Indonesian. Sounds unnatural.
5. a. Tenshi no Shippo – I can’t see the center from my seat, so I ended up watching Rena the whole song. HER TAIL. OMG THE WAY IT SWAYED. Was really cute.
5. b. Pajama Drive – Shania did great job being center. IMO she tried too hard to imitate Mayuyu’s expression though.
5. c. Junjou Shugi – Sonya failed hard when doing the famous BBA Katayama’s high speed turn. Ve and Stella at her sides gave more powerful dance although still out of control.
5. d. Temo Demo no Namida – Melody’s expression was really good. Jeje unconsciously smiled sometimes.
5. e. Kagami no Naka no Joan of Arc – Looked rough, but it was clear that they gave all their energy to jump and pump their fist to the air.
6. At Two Years Later, the “Aah~” sounded really half-assed.
7. Sound trouble during Inochi no Tsukaimichi. The music stopped for about 5 seconds during opening intro and members stopped dancing for a while, but audience didn’t react at all. When the sound started again the show went on like nothing happened.
8. Wasshoi(B) was introduced as “Wasshoi” – without any letter. No plan to create formal team J yet?

Members Impression
To be honest I still haven’t remember most of their names and faces. For the time being, the ones that caught my eyes are:
1. Melody – is unexpectedly small. Nice expression.
2. Dhike – looks like NMB48 Jo Eriko’s sister. An airhead?
3. Cleo – from her looks I thought she was more of a cool person, but her cutesy act during MC was very funny.
4. Ghaida – the Genking of JKT. Already famous for love of Kamen Rider and got many reaction from audience when she was going to talk. Maybe because of the nervousness and too much energy (?) she spoke too fast to hear and often stumbled on her words.
5. Nabilah – ex-old team K Oku Manami clone. Seriously, looks like JKT managed to get some gene of Oku Manami and injected it in this girl.
6. Shania – as expected of the one who gets Mayuyu position in this show. Her performance was superb, clearly one level above most of the others.
7. Rena – as a Japanese who’s still learning Indonesian, her voice when speaking Indonesian was so cute I melted.

Overall
Some still haven’t remember the choreo completely and was clearly eyeing others for hint.
Many movements during group songs didn’t synchronize.
Most of them still afraid to eye the audience directly.
Their live performance still can’t give energy injection like AKB / NMB (I haven’t watched SKE or HKT live so I have no right to compare) – most of the audience were just being hysterical.
Dance may fail, but I must admit that the vocal section is great. Some songs like Futari Nori no Jitensha and Boku no Sakura sounded better than original. I can’t help but surprised a bit, “Eh? They were this good?”.

For now they’re not good, but that’s how everyone in 48-group started.
These girls have the potential, they have worked hard, and in this first show they have successfully made me want to watch them again.

My MVP: Rena’s tail at Tenshi no Shippo.

Nice legs, perfect lighting.

That choreo was then replaced with a “dame dame” gesture. Still strikes a kyun in my heart.

What I found interesting this time is you could clearly see members’ personality from their way of betting. With around 70,000 points difference from 1st place, how would members react and place their bets?

Race prediction:

Each member had 1,000 points in hand and were free to distribute it to whichever bet types that they like.
Most of them played safe with distributing points over many bets to increase winning chance. “Experienced person” like Mariko, Haruna, and Akicha chose Trifecta (orange ones) for bigger odds rather than normal Trio (blue ones). Except for one, all of Haruna’s bet will give her more than 730 odds if she win.
There were also braves who bet on all or nothing like Tomochin, Minarun, and Ooya. Salute for Kana who consistently did it like this from the start.

Actually I was expecting Sasshi to win with all the tie-ups she got (Sashibingo, Yubi Matsuri, etc.) and quite surprised when Nogizaka won at 1st day with around 50,000 margin. Turns out I was the one who lacked information about Nogizaka. They ARE good. Their 1st single Guru Guru Curtain 1st day sales was 85,000 copies, so this figure is expected.
There was a case where 12,000 copies of Soredemo Suki dayo theater version didn’t get in the ranking calculation, but it didn’t change the result.

Anyway, Sasshi’s fans still have election to look at so their struggle hasn’t ended yet.

Okay… So what’s with all the fuss?

Today the campaign has entered second race and Tomo~mi won big. Not just she won, she won BIG – with over 70,000 times multiplication from her initial bet (100 points).

To give some image about how this whole betting system works, this is types of betting:

By the way winner horses in order are 5-17-12. Like you could see, 5 and 17 are favorites. Someone mentioned at her 2ch thread, if being compared to AKB election Tomo~mi’s win this time is like betting that members on top 3 are Yuko, Yukirin, and a random kenkyuusei.

Trusting Fans’s Words, Tomo~mi doesn’t Waver

“Calm and composed”. As someone who has experienced three elections before, that describes her the best.
“At the first election, I think I have overcomed the most severe thing. Members who have been here for long time are not taking it easy, but already used to it.”

Along with piling number of elections, media coverage (of AKB48) magnifies and it becomes social phenomenon. She is also one part of it.
“Casual things I said is being picked up all too seriously. I’m really surprised. Perhaps I can’t do nothing but to restrain myself.”
Because she has grown, there’s no way she would waver before the election.

Last year she finished at 16th – her lowest position. This year senbatsu members decreases from 21 to 16. But, “Fans are always watching over me until now. Solo activities also increased, they said lately I’m getting good. I’m happy if I could move forward.”
More than anything, what she believes is fans’ words.

Yuko, “I’ve Thought about Stepping Down”

“When Acchan said she is going to graduate, for a moment I also thought that maybe I also should step down from election.”
For the last three elections, two of them take turn at position 1 and 2, that’s why they are called rivals.
“We never intended to do it that way, it’s my first time realizing that she is going to go. At the same time, now I know her importance as rival who supports me up. Truthfully a large hole opened in my heart. Even though I appear in this election, will it be something to me, something like that.”

Am I necessary?
Oshima sent a mail asking to Akimoto producer (55), “I’m not necessary again, do I?”
Last year at her 2nd place speech Oshima touched everyone with, “For us these votes are everyone’s love,” yet she also have some hesitation. “If I don’t appear, my fans will lost their place to go, maybe they will get lost in the roadside.”
Mr. Akimoto replied, “If Yuko doesn’t appear, AKB will collapse. I won’t make you take all the burden.”
If both of the aces leave the group will crumble in an instant. So she has made her resolve. She replied, “I will devote it all for AKB,” and made Mr. Akimoto moved to tears.

Last Chance

Somehow, we could understand the meaning of “Won’t make you take all the burden” from Mr. Akimoto. Yuko has never being “appointed” as center even once.

Oshima, “That’s exactly what I wished. In election being center is something I received from fans, I am happy for that. Election is a once in a year event where fans give us reward by putting us in senbatsu through votes. Even though next year there will be another one, even though I would still be the same… I don’t know if it’s still possible. This year is my last chance.”
